Joy Division
A chronological account of the influential late 1970s English rock band from Salford. Pioneers of the post-punk movement Joy Division had a unique sound and style that provided a backdrop to the late ‘70s. The tragic suicide in May 1980 of lead singer and songwriter, Ian Curtis, at the age of 23 happened on the eve of the Band’s first US/Canada tour. Just 2 months later their 2nd and last album “Closer” was released; it and the single “Love Will Tear Us Apart” proved to be the band’s highest charting successes.
