Engineer Rod Slater (Roger Moore) gets a leading position promised by the mine management when he risks a daring push on a gold vein. Slater accepts without suspecting that he serves only as a tool of ruthless speculation. Because instead of a gold vein, he digs towards a huge water vein that is supposed to flood and destroy the whole mine.
