The legendary film "Le Mans," released in 1971, was not only a box office hit at the time but continues to captivate audiences today. Siegfried Rauch, known for his role as the "Traumschiff" captain, starred alongside the famous Steve McQueen as the race car driver Erich Stahler. What few people know is that a close friendship developed between the two actors. Rauch captured their shared moments and mutual visits with his Super 8 camera. Decades later, he rediscovered this footage, and suddenly, eyewitnesses from that time came forward to share their memories of the spectacle.
